Elay sighed and laughed loudly as she walked along the , what used to be, royal entrance to the kings ruleing room. "I'm so glad I finally got away from that wretched woman. I would have been stuck In the lowlands with her forever had I stayed, that would have been horrid."
She opened the partially in-tact doors and steeped into the dark room. It was one of the only rooms that was left standing, the others being the servants quarters and the war room, there was also a peice of a hallway here and there but nothing too major. Her mind ran wild with excitement as she stepped before the royal throne.
Elay wiped the smile off her face and knelt before the throne, imagining what it would have been like in the presence of one of the greatest rulers in history two hundred years ago. Her mind raced to all the knowlegde she had obtained about the greatest of them all, Jacob VanBhudren III. He stopped the eastern territories from invadeing the entire empire, then used most of his wealth to help the poorer pesants of the village, the list goes on and on. After he had helped so many people another attack was launched on the city. He stepped up on the front of the battelfeild, raised his sword and yelled out to them, "Only those who wish death may come forth!"
She shook her head and cleared her thoughts. Elay was still knelt on the cold brick before the throne. She smiled and stood up again. She turned and headed back out the doors, towards the light. The hallway echoed with her passing footsteps and the occasional thump of her staff hitting the back of her leg.
The main doors to the castle opened and Elay had to squint, the sun on the snow made it very very bright outside. She put her glasses farther up on her face, so they could protect her eyes, and looked around. She sighed and sat on the stairs with statues of lions on either side. Silence surrounded her all sides and she laughed happily. Then some faint sounds of footsteps, they sisn't sound like they were ment for an attack, maybe just a casual visit.
